Jim & Sally Lindemann
Borrego Springs
Performing Art Center’s board of directors announces that the 2008-09
season will be dedicated to Jim and Sally Lindemann. They have been
staunch supporters of the theater arts in Borrego Springs for many
years, both financially and on stage. They sang in many variety shows,
often performing parody material which Jim wrote. Jim played in
“Harvey”, “Ten Little Indians”, “On Borrowed Time”, “Born Yesterday”,
“Of Mice and Men” and starred as Herr Schultz in “Cabaret”. Sally
played a nurse in “South Pacific” and Mrs. Hedges in “Born Yesterday” as
well as lending backstage support.
Jim served on the
BSPAC board from 1997 to 2004. He was primarily concerned with
advertising and publicity. He wrote news releases and TOT applications
(with the help of Jere Hansen and Judy Coyle). Together he and Sally
created and distributed the posters around town to promote various
shows. He suggested producing a playbill with advertising and inserts
for different performances, and came up with the idea for a very visual
banner to be hung near the post office.
Previous honorees
selected by the board were Mary McLellan
and John Drum and his late wife,
Lois.
